What are wedding photography styles? In this question, we’re gonna talk about the traditional styles of a wedding photography, or I should say the typical styles of wedding photography. There are three primary styles. There are traditional, there is journalistic and artistic styles of wedding photography. When you think of wedding photography, while you’re probably thinking of is a traditional traditional is where the wedding photographer is going to show up the big camera, full light set props and backdrops and is going to take you through a series of poses. It will be you and your husband together. Uh, you and the wedding party together, bride and bridesmaids, the groom and the groomsmen. A, the parents, uh, any attending siblings, ah, then sort of goes on from there, but they’re all pretty staged. They’re all very standard. Of course, you know, things like, for example, getting you coming down the aisle, standing up, saying your vowels and so on.
The next level is journalistic. May also be noticed photojournalistic. In this style of wedding photography, the wedding photographer will be moving in and taking pictures as if they were a journalist covering your wedding as a story. So they’re going to be much more like in the moment, uh, they won’t be a staged a, so you’ll probably get a much more sort of just, you know, shots you went and start to think of a traditional wedding photography. Uh, and then the final one, artistic is really the next level of that photo journalist. They’re going to come around and they’re really going to try and capture shots that are going to be very, you know, that you wouldn’t even think about, you know, maybe they might even be overhead a side. Ah, they’re going to be doing a lot of fancy stuff when filters, uh, they might even be using drones, uh, and uh, other end cameras and maybe other photographers to travel with them to capture this really unique shots.
You’re really moving into something you’re going to have as an artistic photo as something just sort of a static. Everybody just standing there in a standard pose. Now I would say I would encourage you that if you’re going with a journalistic or artistic style photographer to make sure that do capture a couple of poses and the traditional style, all photographers are going to be able to capture those traditional photos and because you’re going to want them, you’re going to want those, like for example, with everybody together on a standard pose just, you know, as a nice moment and uh, you know, perhaps, um, you know, those might be the ones you get printed nicely and ended up, for example, might be if maybe maybe for example, if you chose an artistic photo and a photographer and we were first married, that’s the kind of photos you want to hang up in your, your department, your first house together. And maybe the traditional photo ends up in your parent’s place. But as you get older, maybe you want that traditional photo. Uh, that’s the reason why I would say make sure you keep it so. Alright. Hopefully, and I understand that there’s not just, when you think of a wedding photographer, there’s just not one size, uh, just traditional boring photographer a. But there’s a couple of different styles for you to choose from.
